If you haven’t read any of Anne McCaffrey’s Pern series, you really need to start at the beginning. But don’t worry, you don’t have to read all 20-something titles before you get to this one! Just six: Dragonflight<\/em>, Dragonquest<\/em>, Dragonsong<\/em>, Dragonsinger<\/em>, The White Dragon<\/em>, and Dragondrums<\/em>. (Links at the end of the post.) There’s a bit of plot overlap between Gigi McCaffrey’s new one and the last couple, but if you’ve read the others, that’s part of the charm.<\/p>\n

For those of you who have loved this series since it first came out (I’m not old enough to make that claim, but I’ve loved it since I first discovered it), you’ll feel the same way about this one that I do.<\/p>\n
